HELLO, FRIENDS!!!!
This milestone almost passed me by before I realized I should probably make a post. I’ve never really been good at keeping track of these things but, luckily, I remembered to do this last minute.
I’ve reached my one year blogiversary!!!
On July 19th of last year, The Uncharted Word was up and running with my first post, “Writer’s Block.” It’s amazing to see how much my blog has changed since I first began blogging. It started out as a writer’s blog with some travel themes but it soon morphed into a bookish type of blog and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I have to thank all you amazing bloggers out there who have followed and supported me, both for some time now and recently. I’m so grateful for all the follows, the likes, and the comments that are left behind. Having a conversation with any one of you has become one of the highlights of my day. Thank you SO much for making my blogging experience ten times more enjoyable than I could have ever expected it to be.
500+ Followers
Not only did my blog turn 1 today, but I’ve also learned that I’ve surpassed 500 followers!!!! Thanks so much to Beth, Sophie, Marta, Stephanie, Melissa, and so many other amazing bloggers for following my humble little blog and for commenting so often on my posts. It means the world to me when I get the chance to speak with all of you about books, TV, movies, and other things that interest us. You guys always put a smile on my face!
Unfortunately, I don’t have many bookish items to give to y’all as a set of amazing prizes. What I DO have, though, is a brand new hardcover copy of Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller! I accidentally bought two copies a few months ago, and I was going to give it to my library, but I thought I would try a giveaway instead!
Here’s the link to the giveaway! –> a Rafflecopter giveaway
I was going to do an old-fashioned Q&A but I know how often that’s done. I saw a reverse Q&A on icebreaker694, and thought that would be a bit more fun to do!
You can answer some or all of these questions. I’ll compile a list of my favorite answers on a separate post!
1. What would you name your boat if you had one?
2. Which fictional book character would be the most boring to meet in real life?
3. Whatโs the most useless talent you have?
4. Would you rather be caught in the middle of a fight between Godzilla and King Kong or a fight between Superman and Batman?
5. If you had to change your name, what would your new name be, and why would you choose that name?
6. Which Disney prince/princess do you think would be the best match for you?
7. If you could change the color of the sky to any color, which color would you choose and why?
8. Which part of your favorite movie completely scarred you as a child?
9. You accidentally found your way to Faerie and a benevolent sorceress has offered to turn you into one of the inhabitants as a disguise. Which sort of fae/mythological creature would you choose to disguise yourself as?
10. Imagine you are in a horror movie and you were home alone at night. A light suddenly turns on in another room. Do you (a) investigate it by yourself (b) yell if someone is there (c) call one of your relatives or friends, or (d) pretend it never happened?
Again, thanks so much you guys! I’m so happy that I’ve continued blogging for a whole year now. And by the looks of it, I don’t have any plans to stop anytime soon. All right, time for me to catch up on some blog hopping and reviews. I’ve been slaggin’.
Congratulations! That is awesome!

Congrats, girlfriend!!! So excited for you and here are a few answers for ya:
1. Slightly Salty
2. This isn’t from a book, but I feel like the teacher from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off would be such a snooze.
3. I can rotate my arm in a funky way.
4. Batman and Superman; I feel like they’d have some regard for human life and would protect civilians to the best of their abilities while Godzilla and King Kong would just destroy.
5. Elizabeth and I would call myself Ella because Elizabeth was my great grandmother’s name
6. Belle for obvious book-related reasons
7. I would change the sky to be whatever color the person looking at it thought was prettiest–this would mean that everyone saw the sky in their own shade of beautiful
8. The Aristocats made me so afraid that I’d end up left on the side of a river, but of course that never happened and I got over it ๐
9. I don’t know a lot about mythological creatures, so I’ll just say fairy??
10. I would call my dad because, though my imagination would be worse than reality, I’m still a big scaredy cat who asks her dad to kill the spiders in her room.
Hope you enjoyed my answers and congrats again! Reading your blog has been such a pleasure and I wish you another year of fabulousness!!

Thank you so much! ๐ That’s such a fantastic name for a boat haha. I agree, the Econ teacher was super boring. And Belle is always a great choice for us bookworms. Awesome answers! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer them all! ห_ห<3

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That is so awesome!!!! Here are some answers to your questions (which is a super awesome idea by the way):
– Most boring fictional character IRL – Filch from Harry Potter. He’s overly obsessed with his cat plus he’s grumpy.
– Most useless talent: It’s super weird but my right little toe can move independently…it’s super freaky and useless haha.
– Part of fav movie that scarred me as a child: I loved Return to Oz, however pretty much every aspect of that movie freaked me out. The queen, the wheelers and pumpkin head. Oh and Dorothy getting electrode therapy at the beginning….*shivers*

Congrats on all the things!
1. The Codfather. I didn’t come up with that. I actually saw a boat with that name and loved it.
3. I can wiggle my ears.
10. Investigate it myself. My mind goes to electrical problem, not supernatural something-or-other. I guess that’s why people in horror movies always seem so stupid.

Thanks so much! And thank you for your answers! ๐ The Codfather is a genius name and I didn’t even think of the possibility that flickering lights might just be an electrical problem haha. I would have just left the house LOL XD No questions asked.

Congratulations on your blogiversary and I love the reverse Q and A idea!
8. My favourite movie growing up was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. There was this one scene where Violet chews this gum that bloats her up and turns her purple. After seeing that, for the next 3 years I would always have to check the mirror after chewing gum to see if I’d turned purple ๐

Thank you so much! And thank you for answering a question! I love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I remember that part clearly. Kind of freaked me out a bit when I was younger, too haha. I’d be afraid of turning purple, too, after seeing something like that happen! XD

Congratulations on reaching your one year blogiversary. It’s such an amazing acheivement and you must be beyond thrilled Azia! ๐ โค Also congrats on reaching 500 followers, that's another amazing acheivement you've reached.
Thanks for the shout-out, I'm so glad I started following you blog because I've had such fun talking to you, I really look forwards to out discussions.
I'll answer a few of your questions because they look really fun;
1. There is a submarine called Boaty McBoatface after a poll was held the name it. I'd definitely name by boat something like that. I always smile whenever I think of that name! ๐
3. I can recite Pi to over 20 decimal points. I'm never going to need to know that so I'd say it's a pretty useless talent.
8. The part in The Fox and the Hound where the fox is abandoned on the side of the road by the old woman, it always makes me cry even now. In terms of movies that scarred me I saw Silence of the Lambs when I was ten, along with Deep Blue Sea and Final Destination. It's the reason I can't watch horror films now.
10. (d) Pretend it never happened. I'd hide under the covers and hope it would be a case of, if there was a murdered or something, if I can't see them they can't see me either! ๐
Again congrats on reaching your one year blogiversary! โค

I’m so happy others are finding my little blog to be even the tiniest bit interesting โค And I'm so glad I found your blog. Seeing your comments and having a convo with you always makes my day ๐
And thanks so much for answering some of my Qs! So many great answers. Boaty McBoatface is ridiculous. I love it LOL. And that's SO IMPRESSIVE you can recite up to 20 decimal points of Pi. I can't even remember the next number after 3.14 haha. Oh Fox and the Hound was such a cute but sad movie! That part killed me ๐ฆ And I, personally, would just leave the house if the lights were acting wonky. But people in horror movies never seem to do that LOL. So I'd just pretend it never happened either haha XD
Thanks again, Beth! โค

That’s all right, and nope, you definitely can’t stop now. Now you’ve got to one year you’ve got to make it to two, and then you’ll have to make it to three! ๐ That’s good to hear, it’s exactly the same for me! โค
That's all right, Yep, Boaty McBoatface never fails to make me smile a little, and I have a pretty good head for numbers which comes in handy with my job and for remembering Pi apparently. ๐
That part never fails to make me cry. Nope, people never leave when something like that happens. I feel the next best option has to be hiding and pretending it never happened! ๐
That's all right. ๐ โค

Same here, it’s always sad when you lose a blogger that you’ve become close with, but I understand how life does get in the way a lot. It happens to me every so often and nothing can really be done about it.
No I don’t mind, I work at Marks and Spencer as a Senior Allocator, basically it involves a lot of working with numbers and can be quite fun. ๐

Reverse Q&A, what an excellent idea! ๐ Happy blogiversary! Congratulations on a whole year of blogging, it’s such a great achievement!
1. What would you name your boat if you had one?
I’m taking boat to mean galleon, none of this fancy speedboat or yacht business, I want a full-blown pirate ship, at which point my ship would be called The Devil’s Strumpet.
2. Which fictional book character would be the most boring to meet in real life?
I have been agonising over this question, mainly because if I find a character boring I don’t really remember them. We’re going to go with … Nope. There’s no one. I can’t think of anyone at all.
3. Whatโs the most useless talent you have?
I can touch my nose with my toe.
4. Would you rather be caught in the middle of a fight between Godzilla and King Kong or a fight between Superman and Batman?
Superman and Batman because I would be less likely to be crushed beneath a giant foot. A giant foot is not the way I want to go.
5. If you had to change your name, what would your new name be, and why would you choose that name?
I really like my name so I would never choose to change it but for the sake of this question either: Louis (loo-ee, rather than the alternative spelling of Lewis) – because it’s similar to one of my names and I like boy names on girls.
Or ‘And’ because it’s actually kinda a little bit of a nickname of mine that I really wish stuck around longer. (Long story short: my grandmother wrote out a card addressed to ‘Valerie, Michael, Christopher and’ – so for a long time my family called me And. :P)
6. Which Disney prince/princess do you think would be the best match for you?
Probably… Rapunzel.
7. If you could change the color of the sky to any color, which color would you choose and why?
I would make the sky sunset/sunrise colours permanently so I didn’t have to get up stupidly early or wait until the evening to see them.
8. Which part of your favorite movie completely scarred you as a child?
One of my and my brother’s favourite movies when we were kids was Basil the Great Mouse Detective, we watched it all the time and the bat terrified me. Now, the bat is one of my favourite animated characters. (After Stitch and Tootless and Greg from Over the Garden Wall, among a few others.)
9. You accidentally found your way to Faerie and a benevolent sorceress has offered to turn you into one of the inhabitants as a disguise. Which sort of fae/mythological creature would you choose to disguise yourself as?
I like this question. Either a Sirin (half bird half lady from Russian mythology) or a Kikimora (female household spirit from Russian mythology who lives behind the stove normally and makes mouseish noises). Part of me also wants to be Baba Yaga but she’s too important to be used as a disguise.
10. Imagine you are in a horror movie and you were home alone at night. A light suddenly turns on in another room. Do you (a) investigate it by yourself (b) yell if someone is there (c) call one of your relatives or friends, or (d) pretend it never happened?
I would like to think I could pretend it never happened. But I couldn’t. I would go and turn the light off. And then I would probably die horrendously.
I love these questions. They’re not your typical questions and were super fun to answer. ๐ Thank you for asking them! (I bloomin’ love answering questions.)

Oh thank you! And thanks so much for answering questions! I love answering Qs, too LOL. I think they’re so much fun ๐ Also, LOVE your answers! Basil the Great Mouse Detective was one of my favorite movies as a child, but man, was it creepy haha. Kinda dark for a kids movie, if you ask me. I still love it though! I haven’t heard of either of those fae creatures! I’ll have to research them. I love mythology and folklore but I don’t know much about Russian myths.
Again, great answers! And thanks so much for commenting! ๐

of course, I have to answer the Disney prince/princess one. I think I would most get along with Rapunzel, because she's super fangirly and we could just totally fangirl together. For prince, I would probably say Flynn when he gave up robbing. XD
Wonderful post, Az, and so much congrats again! โค

I’ve commented earlier but I don’t think it went through. ๐ข But congrats!!! ๐๐๐๐ I redid the questions from my last comment. ๐
1. What would you name your boat if you had one?
I’ve never been boating, I almost did once, but the lake was full. Umm… I bet I’d name it with a pirate them like “Skull of the Sea” or something.
2. Which fictional book character would be the most boring to meet in real life?
Hmm… I’d feel like I’d be the boring person that they meet. ๐ They’ve all been on some adventure, and I’ve been watching Netflix all summer.
3. Whatโs the most useless talent you have?
I used to be very flexible and could turn into a “pretzel” as I used to call it. I can’t now, but I can do cartwheels if that counts.
4. Would you rather be caught in the middle of a fight between Godzilla and King Kong or a fight between Superman and Batman?
Superman and Batman! I’m just a huge superhero fan in general, so I’d love to see them in action!
5. If you had to change your name, what would your new name be, and why would you choose that name?
I’d like to create a new name for myself. I don’t really have one in mind, but I’d like it to start with an A or a C like Calverna or Alynia. (Just examples.)
6. Which Disney prince/princess do you think would be the best match for you?
Probably Rapunzel. She’s goofy and sometimes crazy, but she’s really kind and loyal. (Also my hair isn’t that long, but it’s like it has a mind of its own.)
7. If you could change the color of the sky to any color, which color would you choose and why?
Something warm, like orange or pink, so that it’ll always be a sunset.
8. Which part of your favorite movie completely scarred you as a child?
I actually used to be scared of a movie called Milo and Otis. ๐ It’s not a scary movie, but one of the scenes made me unable to watch it again.
But I was a big Disney fan when I was a kid, and I really liked The Little Mermaid, so probably the scene where Ursula turns into a giant or where she curses Triton.
9. You accidentally found your way to Faerie and a benevolent sorceress has offered to turn you into one of the inhabitants as a disguise. Which sort of fae/mythological creature would you choose to disguise yourself as?
A selkie! It’s half human half seal! I think seals are really cute, who doesn’t love them?
10. Imagine you are in a horror movie and you were home alone at night. A light suddenly turns on in another room. Do you (a) investigate it by yourself (b) yell if someone is there (c) call one of your relatives or friends, or (d) pretend it never happened?
You know what they say, “Ignorance is bliss.” Haha, I choose (D), it’s safer to pretend you didn’t see anything then plan your sneak attack, hehe.

“Skull of the Sea.” I like it! I can barely do a backbend anymore. But at least we both still have our cartwheel talent! And I think Rapunzel is possibly one of the most relatable princesses. You can never go wrong with sunset colors and SAME. That Ursula part used to freak me the heck out when I was a kid, too LOL. Agreed, seals are freaking adorable and haha, I would probably just ignore the light, too. Or just leave the house XD

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS AZIA ๐ โค โค โค Such a well-deserved milestone (and probably updated by now hahaha)
Second of all, AAWWW you're too sweet! Thank YOU for having such an awesome blog ^_^ I love every minute I spend reading your posts and they always brighten my day! Don't ever stop blogging, seriously. I think of you as one of my favorite online people, and I count on it staying that way for a long time โค
As for the questions:
1. I have no idea… I always see boats with really cheesy names so I'll have to think long and hard on it first xD
2. Most boring… Hmm. I'd say maybe Cath from Fangirl. I'm just not into her.
3. I can type really fast. That's all I can think of right now xD
4. Superman and Batman, I guess. I'd probably stand a chance, considering they're human and I could maybe, possibly, count on them to be careful around civilians xD
5. I've never thought of that… I think I'd keep mine for now lol
6. Oh, tough one. Hmm. I don't really think any of the princes would do it for me LOL Maybe Eric or Shang? I do love Flynn but I think he'd drive me mad xD
7. I think it'd be cool if the sky would change colors everyday. It'd be like a surprise every morning!
8. I, for some reason, was terrified of the Siamese cats in The Lady and the Tramp. That's one of the creepiest ones I remember!
9. Oh I have no idea… So many to choose from! Maybe a dragon or a mermaid.
10. e) Jump out the window and never look back X'D
Again, congrats and thanks for the lovely questions! ^^
