I noticed I haven't made an update post for Beat the Backlist even though I made the pledge in January. These are the books I've managed to finish up this year, so far!
Sometimes there are books on your TBR that you feel need to be on there even though you're not very excited to have them there. This tag is dedicated to those books LOL
A new place to check out if you're looking for that perfect literary gift!
Even though I've read like 10 classics, I'll give this one a try.
I feel like there are more genres out there. I wonder what they are...
I don't read many classics, but I think I've read a few future classics!
It's been a while since I've done this meme! Mostly because I've kind of been struggling to find any standalones I've read, besides classics, but I think I'm fresh out. And then I realized that if I go to the classics, there are only a few I actually like and would recommend. Even so, I haven't featured all of my favorite classics yet, so I'll do those for now!
As I mentioned before, I'm going to have to resort to the classics, as I am quickly running out of standalones that have been published in the last two to three decades. So, for today's standalone, I recommend:
My last two Jane Austen novels!
Emma: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 1/2
Persuasion: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 1/2
The dialogue is carefully crafted among the characters, the scenery is painted with a sense of familiarity, the characters are vibrant, and the romance is top-notch. I encourage everyone to read Austen's Pride and Prejudice. My Rating: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 1/2
