Wrap Up: January 2020 | Reads and Reviews

I was doing just fine at the beginning of January. I had a game plan (read the TOG series) and I was blogging semi-regularly and I actually wrote my reviews right after completing COM and HOF. But then the books started getting bigger and bigger, and the days were passing by too quickly, and I had no time to blog if I wanted to get to KOA by the end of January.

So, any reviews I might have had planned went on the back-burner and any cute blog posts I wanted to do evaporated into thin air. Blog-hopping? What’s that?

Hopefully this month I’ll be able to balance blogging and reading, especially now that my TBR doesn’t consist of six 600-1,000 page books……But I’m proud of myself. I actually managed to stay true to my TBR in January!! Granted, I didn’t get to read the prequel to the TOG series, but it wasn’t officially part of my TBR, so it’s all good.

I didn’t post much and I didn’t blog-hop enough to create an extensive list of favorite blog posts by other bloggers, but I’ll share what I have in another post and then I’ll start planning some future posts this week!

Happy New Year! | Goals for 2020

Beat the Backlist 2020 | Books I Should Probably Read This Year

Reading Update: Moving on to Book 4 of the Throne of Glass Series

Finishing up the Throne of Glass Series

  • I got a movie pass! So I’ve been going a bit crazy trying to see any and all movies that might interest me. So far I’ve seen Jumanji, 1917, The Gentlemen, and Underwater. And I enjoyed every single one of them! Especially 1917. That was absolutely fantastic
  • My cousin managed to convince me to babysit my baby cousin. I don’t really do babies, so it was weird for me at first, but then he and I got along pretty well so I ain’t mad. He’s a good baby boy ^.^
  • I finally read the Throne of Glass series
  • SAD HIGHLIGHT: On January 26, 2020 Kobe Bryant, and his daughter Gianna (Gigi) Bryant passed away in a tragic helicopter accident along with 7 other victims: John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah Payton, Chester Payton, Christina Mauser, and Ara Zobayan. May they all rest in peace.

January was a great month of reading for me. I finished an entire series along with a classic I’ve failed to read up until now. I can definitely see myself rereading To Kill a Mockingbird several times over.

I failed to complete one of my monthly goals of baking something new. I’ll bake two new things this month to make up for it. I’ve got my heart set on pistachio brownies with salted caramel drizzle and lemon yogurt cake

February has already started off pretty amazing. I already got my hur did, I reunited with one of my favorite mommas (shoutout to Mrs. Skytte) from high school, and I attended a superbowl party with some life-long friends. Let’s hope the month continues to offer many good things!

That’s all for now! Thanks so much for stopping by. Until next time ❤

  1. Great job on sticking to your TBR! 😀 I’m the worst when it comes to that, so I just don’t do TBRs. I’m glad to see that you enjoyed everything that you read. Hope that February will be an amazing month for you! ❤
