Down the TBR Hole | #2

My mission is to get rid of the books that have been on my TBR for years and that will probably stay on my TBR for years to come if I don’t get rid of them now.

As a reminder, Down the TBR Hole is a weekly book meme created by the wonderful Lia @ Lost in a Story that attempts to organize our ridiculously long Goodreads TBR list by choosing either to keep or eliminate the books we’ve saved on there.

On to the next set we go!

THE BOOKS

BALLAD ( Books of Faerie, #2) | Maggie Stiefvater

I’m sure at some point I planned to read this book, as I really enjoyed the first book, Lament. However, it’s been such a long time since I read the first book and even though I would still love to read this one, I believe it’s been decided that there would be no third book in the series even though Stiefvater planned to write one at some point. So, that just sounds like an unfinished series and the prospect of disappointment.

The Judgment: GO

THE WAKE TRILOGY | Lisa McMann

There’s no point. I know I won’t ever get to this series. I might have wanted to read this one when I was in high school, but not anymore. I read the synopsis for the first book and it’s just not something I can get excited about.

The Judgement: GO

GRAVE MERCY | Robin LaFevers

I JUST noticed that this is the same author who recently released Courting Darkness. I bought the book last month, though I have yet to read it. I don’t know much about the author, but it seems that she prefers to tell stories of political intrigue, assassinations, and espionage. I’m all for those things, and the premise to this one still sounds pretty interesting. Also, if I end up liking Courting Darkness, this would be a good reminder to try LaFevers’s other works!

The Judgement: KEEP

CRESCENDO (Hush, Hush #2) | Becca Fitzpatrick

I’ve been hearing whispers that the Hush, Hush series has been green-lit for a film. Casting has even been determined. So it’s well on it’s way to theaters sometime within the next two years! I never finished this series, but I’d be willing to give it another go. I’m still not over angels just yet, so I’ll be keeping this series on my TBR. However, I’ll add the books one by one as I go, meaning that I need to start at the beginning, not the second book.

The Judgement: GO (for now)

SERAPHINA | Rachel Hartman

I have to be honest with myself. Even though I love dragons, I haven’t found many dragon books that actually interest me. I tried Eragon, and liked it well enough, but I haven’t reached for the second book in years. And for this one, I keep trying to tell myself that I want to read this book but I don’t think I actually. And after reading the premise this last time, I’m thinking that it’s time to say goodbye.

The Judgement: GO

TOTALS

KEEP – 1

GO – 4

I think that went fairly well! There are many books that I’ve grown out of and so it’s good that I’m going through my list now so that I can narrow it down and to also hone in on my current interests.

That’s all for now! Thanks for stopping by. Until next time ❤

  1. I read Hush, Hush a long time ago (too long to remember what it’s about besides fallen angels I think). Rumour has the film is being shot in Cape Town

    1. Yeah, all I remember is there were fallen angels and a boy named Patch. I don’t even remember the name of main female protagonist lol. Definitely gotta reread soon. Cape Town! Oh how pretty! That should be cool to see 😀
