September is the month I went M.I.A. It might not have seemed like it, but I actually was, especially in the blog-hopping department. Please forgive me if I’ve missed a plethora of your amazing posts. I wish I had the time to read them, but I just don’t anymore. I’ll do better next month, because I will make it my goal to return to the WordPress reader and pop-in to say hello more than I have these past few weeks. Hell, these past few months…
Some good news though! I’ve surpassed 600 followers! Thanks so much to everyone who’s stumbled onto my blog and clicked that follow button and thanks ever so much to those of you who have stuck around for a while. I greatly appreciate you and all your support ❤
I’ve been busy this month with work, but I managed to get a good amount of reading and reviewing done. Here’s what I’ve been up to!
#famous | Lilly Gagnon | ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Thoughts: Modern and relatable. Important themes of fame, social media, and human behavior. Underdeveloped main characters. Uninteresting string of events and love story. A book to pass the time.
Thirteen Reasons Why | Jay Asher | Review to Come
Thoughts: A book that makes a statement, though not perfectly. Not a huge fan of the tape premise. Most of the characters are pretty hollow. Despite its flaws, this is a powerful story that explores themes of bullying, mental illness, and suicide.
This Savage Song | Victoria Schwab | Review to Come
Thoughts: Amazing world-building. Potent character development. Engaging plot. Suspenseful and thrilling action sequences. Fantastic platonic relationship between Kate and August. One of the best YA dystopian/paranormal books I’ve read.
Noteworthy | Riley Redgate | Review to Come
Thoughts: Easily one of my favorite contemporaries I’ve read this year! Heart-warming and humorous. A diverse cast of fun and relatable characters. Very well-written and hard to put down. Loved every bit of this one.
Spontaneous | Aaron Starmer | Review to Come
Thoughts: An oddball, dark comedy with a cast of quirky characters. The MC, Mara, is a complicated character with strange motivations and even stranger thoughts. Humorous style of writing with entertaining dialogue. Ending was heartbreaking. Middle was a lackluster mix of jumbled emotion and gore.

Mini Reviews: Geekerella and Glitter
1. With the exception to a few bad customers, I enjoy working at Starbucks! The people I work with right now are really friendly and fun.
2. I bought a few more books!
3. I was just approved to review an ARC of The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert!!!
4. My friend who now lives in Atlanta gave me a call and we talked for two hours about books! We ranted about The Red Queen series and I finally got to recommend Six of Crows and My Lady Jane to her.
5. I added fairy lights to my bookshelves, my bed, and some ironwork pieces hung up on my wall. My room now looks like this at night:
Halloween is officially 30 days away! I can’t wait!!!
My friends and I have a day of horror planned at Universal Studios. I’ve been waiting for this all year 😀
My goals this month are:
- Catch up with every singe one of my reviews. No more playin’ around
- Return to the WordPress reader and check there daily to keep up with you guys. (I might not go back and check out your older posts. I’ll just try to read your new ones.)
- Read more books outside of YA
- Make sure to take a few days to relax and recharge from my packed schedule
- Complete a post about my editorial internship (courtesy of Izzi @ Ravenclaw Book Club)
- Create my own book tag. I think it’s about time
- Finish up my awards and tags. I have a few drafts floating around that I have yet to finish
All right, that’s all for now! I hope everybody’s doing well and thanks so much for sticking with me despite my absences! 😀 Thanks for stopping by and I’ll talk to you soon!

Thank you, Satou! 😀 And of course you are! I’ll try to stop in as soon as I can
And yeah it was! Very hectic but worth it in the end. At least I still found time to read. But yeah, might need to take a few more breaks this month haha
Thanks for stopping by! ❤

Seems like you had a great September Azia, congrats on reaching and surpassing 600 followers, also on being approved for an ARC of The Hazel Woods. I have an ARC of that release as well and I can’t wait to get around to it because it sounds so amazing! 😀
You got through some great books too, This Savage Song is a favourite of mine so I am so glad to see you enjoyed it, and I can’t wait to see your review as well. Also great haul, those are some gorgeous books and I can’t wait to read They Both Die at the End myself.
Again great post, and I hope you have an incredible October as well. 🙂 ❤

Thanks so much! I might not have posted often, but I managed to read some really good books. I was so shocked to be accepted for The Hazel Wood! I can’t wait to get started on it. I’ve heard great things about it so far 😀
I heard They Both Die At the End is pretty unique but just as touching and evocative as most Silva books are (though this would be my first Silva book). I have tissues prepared haha
Thanks again, Beth, and you too! ❤

That’s all right. 🙂 I’ve heard great things about it as well. I feel like I’ve been so excited for it for so long that it’s got to live up to the hype.
I just finished it today, you’re definitely going to need tissues Azia but it’s such an incredible read. Honestly I loved it so so much.
That’s all right, and thanks Azia. 🙂 ❤

I’m so glad I’m not the only one leaving blog-hopping behind xD I’ve been so busy lately, I really couldn’t. But now that Freshers’ Week at Uni is over, I think I can manage a schedule.
You got Wonder Woman!! I need that book in my life haha And your room looks awesome with the fairylights, I’m in love ❤

Sometimes life just gets in the way LOL. But yeah, blog-hopping is a bit too hard to keep up with when you’re schedule is so packed! Hopefully we can get back into daily blogging at least 😀
So excited to read all my new books! And thank you! I’m really happy with how it turned out ❤

Isn’t your room way too bright with so many lights? I put up a chain of fairy lights just around my bed and it lights up the whole room 😂
I hope you do get the internship post up, I would still really love to read it! Catching up on reviews is also definitely one of my goals 😩 I just have no time with classes! But at least I also have no time for reading, so I’m not adding more reviews to the list 😅

LOL, not at all! The bulbs on my bed are frosted, so it’s really dim lighting. The fairy lights on the bookcases are bright enough to light up the entire room, though. All the lights together equate to a normal, slightly dim lamp XD LOL I don’t like too bright places.
I hope I can get that post done as well! I’m hoping to draft it up sometime this weekend 😀 And reviews. My mortal enemy this year… XD LOL, I know that feel. Don’t worry, you’ll catch up on those reviews! And reading! If you’re a reader, you’ll always make time somewhere to get a good chapter in, at least, even with a busy class schedule. Hope you manage to catch up with everything! xx
