Types of Memes Book Tag

Hello! Hi! Hey! ๐Ÿ™‚ I love book tags. They’re so much fun. But do you know what could make them even better? That’s right. Memes ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks so much to the lovely Sophie @ Blame Chocolate for tagging me! Also, huge thanks to Icebreaker694 for creating this tag!

I’ve only made one meme in my life (I usually like to find them on Facebook and send them to my friends because that’s what my life has become), but this time I made some of my own!

โ€œGRUMPY CATโ€ โ€” A BOOK YOU HAVE NEGATIVE FEELINGS ABOUT

It | Stephen King

I’m not saying I hate this book, just that it has caused me to have a pretty deep, dark fear of clowns and storm drains. That’s all. And yet, I plan to see the movie…

โ€œWHAT IF I TOLD YOUโ€ โ€” A BOOK YOU SPOILED FOR YOURSELF

Allegiant | Veronica Roth

I didn’t so much ruin this book myself as I had it ruined for me. Although, I was standing close to friends who were talking about the series. My fault for not walking away once they started talking about the ending…

โ€œI DONโ€™T ALWAYS MANโ€ โ€” A BOOK YOU DONโ€™T ALWAYS LIKE, BUT WHEN YOUโ€™RE READING IT YOU DO

Mrs. Dalloway | Virginia Woolf

I had to read this book several times for university, and every time I saw it on the syllabus, I got frustrated. But every time I read it, I was totally fine with the book. It’s not my favorite classic, but I guess it’s not the worst.

โ€œ60โ€™S SPIDERMANโ€ โ€” A GOOD CLASSIC OR RETRO BOOK THATโ€™LL NEVER GET OLD

Wuthering Heights | Emily Brontรซ

I’m gonna go with Sophie on this one. Wuthering Heights is my secret obsession.

โ€œJUST LITTLE THINGSโ€ โ€” A BOOK THATโ€™S VERY RELATABLE

The Unexpected Everything | Morgan Matson

I feel like all of Matson’s books are pretty relatable. This one really resonated with me because I, too, was looking for a job for the summer. And dog-walking didn’t sound half bad, at a certain point ๐Ÿ˜‰

โ€œDEMOTIVATIONALโ€ โ€” A BOOK THAT YOUโ€™VE SEEN ALMOST EVERYWHERE

Eliza and Her Monsters | Francesca Zappia

No matter where I look, I keep seeing this book EVERYWHERE. On WordPress, on Goodreads, on Twitter, and on Instagram…I really want to read it now.

โ€œYOU DONโ€™T SAYโ€ โ€” A PREDICTABLE BOOK

Stalking Jack the Ripper| Kerri Maniscalco

I figured out who the killer was not even half way through the book. For me, the clues were glaringly obvious. So, in the end, this book was hella predictable. But I still freaking loved it. And I can’t wait for the second book to come out this month!

โ€œONE DOES NOT SIMPLYโ€ โ€” ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY BINGE READ THE ENTIRE BOOK (A BOOK YOU BINGE READ)

A Court of Mist and Fury | Sarah J. Maas

I devoured this book within a day. Couldn’t. Stop. Reading. No ragrets ๐Ÿ˜‰

โ€œCHEMISTRY CATโ€โ€” A BOOK THAT TAUGHT YOU SOMETHING NEW

When Dimple Met Rishi | Sandhya Menon

Not only is this a cute YA contemporary, it also taught me a bit about Indian culture and language!

โ€œPET MEMESโ€ โ€” A BOOK THATโ€™S JUST REALLY ADORABLE

Geekerella | Ashley Poston

This retelling of Cinderella is so freaking adorable. Loved how the two MCs are part of a fandom. The ending is cheesy and predictable but also so so cute ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. LOVED this Azia! smiled so hard with your memes especially Spidey with his hand to his chest smh ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I have no plans on reading It or watching the movie & realllllly wish the trailers would stop sneaking into my happy Youtube viewing LOL! I can’t see a red balloon or a storm drain w/out thinking of that freaky clown ๐Ÿ™ˆ as for Allegiant, I was about to start it as my hubby was finishing it & his face…UGH!…it said it all, major dissapointment so I skipped it. It’s the only series I willingly decided not to finish. PLEASE read Eliza and Her Monsters! GAHHHH! ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค— so good! & I inhaled ACOWAR, no regrets here either ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Thanks, Lily! ๐Ÿ˜€ I love that Spidey one, too XD Pennywise is my worst nightmare. I don’t know why I’m doing this to myself LOL. But since I love going to Halloween Horror Nights and watching scary movies alone in the dark, I’m thinking I’m a closeted lover of horror haha. And okay, sounds like I really did dodge a bullet with the Divergent series! I just saw it in my library! I wanted to get it but I decided I’ll buy Eliza instead so I can have it on my shelves. I’m thinking it’s worth a buy ๐Ÿ˜€

      1. OMG! the image of you watching scary movies in the dark scares me! LOL! I’d be the one walking through opening up all the blinds smh haha! I just had a co-worker tell me he went to see IT even though he hates clowns -_- smh yea, he didn’t enjoy it. I draw the line at creepy dolls since I have a 6 yr old dtr who owns a few & I don’t need that in my life lmao! I think you chose well with Eliza tbh ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. Because we love talking to you and show our appreciation through tags! I forget all the time that some bloggers don’t do tags. I just tag some of my favorite people lol ๐Ÿ˜Š

  2. Ooooooh, this was a lot of fun, Azia! ๐Ÿ˜€ I loved reading your answers. I can’t believe you managed to read all of ACOMAF in a day because I’m so jealous XD It was so easy to binge read, though. Geekerella really was so adorable as well, and I have seen Eliza literally everywhere as well. It really was quite good, though, so the hype, for me, really was well deserved! Also, super agree about Stalking. I totally picked it out right away, but it was still a lot of fun. ๐Ÿ™‚ Wonderful answers and thanks so much for the tag! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I really couldn’t stop reading ACOMAF. It was just SO GOOD. And that’s good to hear about Eliza. I plan to buy it soon, just to have it on my shelves as a reminder that I need to read it one day! And sure thing! Have fun ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. thank yaaaa for the tag, this seems super fun!! ๐Ÿ’– i have a very bad habit of tagging my friends in slightly disturbing memes at 3 in the morning, so memes hold a special place in my heart ๐Ÿ˜‰

and OMG I KEEP ON SEEING TRAILERS AND PROMO FOR THE MOVIE IT EVERYWHEREEE IN MY FEED. I’m honestly v curious about it now…..

HAHA, I spoiled myself SO HARD for allegiant but I wouldn’t have cared either way, I was so apathetic about the plot and the characters and EVERYTHING. the series just went downhill for me.

    1. No worries! โค Memes are food for the soul lol

I'm hoping to see IT sometime this weekend. The clown is my worst fear, but the film looks like a good time. I love scary movies!

Ah I feel that's how most people feel about the Divergent series now. I'm kind of glad I never really got started on it haha

      Liked by 1 person

      1. SO TRUE. and IT is receiving super good reviews, and a lot of my friends say it’s amazing, so my expectations are sky-high!! tbh I’m not a huge horror fan myself, so I’m prettyyy scared. I can’t stand seeing people’s heads/arms/legs get chopped off, it’s just *shudders* AAKFJLSDKFJ. but if you do watch it, I hope you enjoy!! โค

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Mine too! I plan to see it at night sometime this week. Gotta make sure I get the full creep factor haha. Not sure why I love horror so much. I can’t remember when they stopped being scary for me and started being more thrilling. If you do go see it, I hope it lives up to your expectations ๐Ÿ˜€ Thank you! โค

  4. Great answers for this tag Azia, I agree with so many of your choices as well. Geekerella is definitely really adorable. It’s the kind of light hearted book you read because you want something fluffy with a sweet romance, and it’ll definitely be one I re-read when I’m feeling down or in a book slump.
Oh I binge read all of Sarah J. Maas’s books, she’s such an incredible author and the way she writes just makes me constantly want to keep turning the pages until there are no more pages to turn.
Stalking Jack the Ripper is on my to-read list, I really can’t wait to get around to it. I’m glad even though the book was predictable it was still one you really enjoyed. ๐Ÿ˜€
Again great answers, and thanks for the tag as well. ๐Ÿ™‚ โค

    1. Thanks, Beth! Yeah, Geekerella has definitely made my reread list, too! A perfect pick-me-up along with My Lady Jane and any Morgan Matson book haha. And definitely. Maas really knows how to keep your attention! And I really hope you enjoy Stalking Jack the Ripper! It was such a fun and dark read ๐Ÿ˜€
      No worries! โค

      1. That’s all right. God yes, it’s mostly YA contemporary books, or humorous books like My Lady Jane or Carry On, that make me re-read list for when I’m feeling down.
Thanks Azia, I hope so too. It’s one I definitely want to get around to soon. ๐Ÿ˜€ โค

  5. OMGGGG I spoiled myself on Allegiant too !! *faints* *gets up again* And guess how ? It was SO cruel *high-pitched sobbing* I was reading Divergent, like, 20 pages in, so I didn’t care much for anything back then. I googled to see the cast and the spoiler was RIGHT in the suggested searches. Like, WHAT did I ever do to you, Google ??

  6. This tag is amazing! I love it! I never really got into the divergent series but I know how it ends anyway…and I’m just kinda meh about it! I also haven’t read Mrs. Dalloway but I feel like I should! So much Virginia Woolf to read! And I have to check out A Room With a View!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. It’s really fun! And consider yourself tagged if you’d like to do it! Mrs. Dalloway is surprisingly interesting. The beginning is slow, but it picks up a few pages in. Her choice to do stream of consciousness was a spot on stylistic choice. I have yet to read A Room With a View, too!

  7. This is such a fun tag! I love memes haha Thanks for tagging me โค
I also loved your answers, and I might borrow some of them ๐Ÿ˜›
I've recently started Stalking Jack the Ripper. I'm sorry to hear it was predictable! I hope I still like it despite it, like you. I was really excited to start it!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Of course! Hope you enjoy it ๐Ÿ˜€ And I hope you enjoy/enjoyed Stalking Jack the Ripper. I might have figured out who the killer was early on, but the book as a whole is genius. I just bought the second book, Hunting Prince Dracula, today and I cannot wait to read it! ๐Ÿ˜€

      Liked by 1 person

      1. I must have been really distracted, because I didn’t guess who jack the ripper was xD But the book was amazing!! I’m really excited to start HPD, but it will probably take me some time before I can buy it :/ I hope you like it! โค

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Yay! So happy you enjoyed it ๐Ÿ˜€ I loved Thomas. His relationship with Audrey Rose was so darn funny and cute haha. And thanks! โค But I'll probably end up reading HPD some time next month or even in November. I have to read my ARCs first! Before the deadline…

        Liked by 1 person

  8. Oh God, I love your memes!! And F YEAH to Wuthering Heights *high five!*
I really hope I don’t figure out who the killer is in SJTR… That would destroy me hahaha And, on the other hand, I really hope I get a similar reading experience with ACOMAF โค
Geekerella was super adorable indeed. I just wish it had a little extra something, you know? But I guess that's what type of book it is: it's not supposed to be deeper than that, and it's supposed to make you feel all the feels. Which was exactly what it did, so… Success? ๐Ÿ˜›
Lovely post, Azia! So happy to see you've done it ^_^

    1. LOL, thanks Sophie!
And I hope you don’t either haha. The killer’s ID seemed really obvious to me, but even when I figured out who it was, I still loved the book in the end!
And I agree about Geekerella. It was such a cute book, but I was looking for more of a drastic departure from the regular Cinderella formula. But even so, it’s a pretty awesome feel-good book, so yeah, I ‘d call it a success haha
Thanks again for tagging me ๐Ÿ™‚ Had a lot of fun with it! โค

  9. wuthering heights will never ever ever get old! And I feel bad for Emily, because no one liked it while she was alive. She died thinking it was a bust and Charlotte did better (even though I love them equally โค Happy holidays ๐Ÿ™‚ !!!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Oh yay! Warms my heart to see another Wuthering Heights fan โค I know it's no comfort to her, but at least after death she's joined the league of renowned authors ๐Ÿ˜€ Well deserved, I think! And thank you, you too! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Oh I remember this tag! This is a fun one. So happy that you got around to it! Loved all your memes haha. I really need to read Queens of Geek. It sounds like the type of book that’s hard not to love. I definitely agree that Carry On is adorable. Simon and Baz’s relationship is just sooooo cute and funny. And oh no. It’s funny to hear you say Ash Princess is so much like Red Queen beacuse that’s exactly what my friend compared the book to. I bought it but I think I might have to lower my expectations a bit to get through it now LOL. Anyways, fantastic post Beth!! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ’•
