Last Week’s Reads and Current Reads/TBR

These past few days I’ve been in and out of blogging. I finally managed to do some hardcore blog-hopping one day, but then I’ve gone about three days without even looking at WordPress after that. So…not sure what’s going on there.

Anyways, I was feeling in the mood to update you guys on what I’ve been reading this past week!

Starswept | Mary Fan

This was the first ARC I was approved for on Netgalley. It’s a romance science fiction and I can honestly say I thought it was fantastic! I’ve written an ARC review for it and so I’ll share that sometime next week!

A Wrinkle in Time | Madeleine L’Engle

I picked this one up on a whim a few days ago because I remembered Dimple mentioning this book in When Dimple Met Rishi and there were also articles about a Wrinkle in Time movie/trailer all over Facebook for a second. I haven’t watched the trailer because I didn’t want to spoil myself before reading the book. I won’t be doing a review for this one. All you have to know is that it’s amazing and I think everything should read it. The book, especially the beginning, kind of reminded me of a Wes Anderson film with its quick-snap dialogue and rifting movement between scenes!Currently Reading

Daughter of the Burning City | Amanda Foody

I haven’t really been reading this one since last week as I focused most of my time on Red Sister, Starswept, and A Wrinkle in Time. Now that I’m almost done with Red Sister and have finished the other two, I can now focus a lot more on getting into this one!

Red Sister | Mark Lawrence

I guess listening to audiobooks takes me a long time. But that’s okay. I like having a book that I’m slowly enjoying over a course of time. I’m a little more than halfway through the book and things are getting REALLY good! Can’t wait to see how it all ends.

Falling Kingdoms | Morgan Rhodes

I’ve had this book on my shelves for a few months but haven’t cracked it open until now. I got to reading a few pages the other day and I’m already hooked. I’m not liking any of the characters but I’m hoping that’ll change soon!DividerI might be reading all those for now, but my mood’s a bit all over the place. If anything, I might pick up a contemporary to take a break from all the sci-fi/fantasy I’ve been reading of late. And I have my eye on these two:

And if I end up not reading those two or any that I’ve mentioned above, then I’ll probably end up reading these two books I picked up from the library recently!

I guess we’ll see what happens. And I’ll be posting the winner to my giveaway and my favorite answers to my reverse Q&A sometime this week. So be on the lookout for that! All right, off to blog hop I go!

Thanks for stopping by and I’ll talk to y’all later!

  1. The only ones of these books I’ve read is Daughter of the Burning City, Fangirl and Holding Up the Universe, but I really hope you enjoy them and the other books on this list to Azia.
I can’t wait to see your review for Daughter of the Burning City, I need to know what you thought of that one, and oh I can’t wait to see your first ARC review either. I feel like the first ARC you get is always a special one, I can still remember the first NetGalley book I was approved for, so I’m glad you enjoyed Starswept! πŸ˜€
    Great post. ❀

    1. Thanks, Beth! I hope I do as well. I’ve heard pretty good things about all of them actually!
I have a good feeling I’ll really like Daughter of the Burning City! It really sounds like it’ll be something I’ll enjoy. And I might try a different format for ARC reviews! Hopefully I can convince some people to look into Starswept because I think it was amazing!
      Thanks again πŸ˜€ ❀

  2. Ugh, you and me both… It’s been a week since I’ve done proper blog hopping and uploaded a post. I haven’t had much access to my computer lately and the WP app sucks so I get very little done in it.
But I’m glad to be seeing you around again and reading your posts always puts a smile on my face πŸ™‚ I really hope you enjoy Falling Kingdoms – and don’t worry, I didn’t like most of the characters in the beginning either, but they kind of grow on you ^^
Hope you enjoy the others too, of course! I can’t wait to read Red Sister ❀

    1. LOL, I’ve fallen so far behind on my blogging. I’ll be spending all day today, Thursday, and the weekend trying to catch up now. My schedule is just all over the place now. And agreed, the WP app sucks. I rarely use it now :/ Also, *blush* Your posts are always so much fun to read, too!
I got sidetracked and started read House of Furies and Fangirl last week, so I might jump into Falling Kingdoms this week. Really excited to delve more into that world and see more about the characters!
Thanks so much! I hope you love Red Sister once you get around to it πŸ˜€ ❀

      1. Hahaha I do that too, a lot. I spend about a week away from the blogosphere and when I’m back it’s like “THERE IS SO MUCH TO READ OMG! Better get to it” xD
Aw, thank you! I hope you’re enjoying all three books πŸ™‚ I’m crossing my fingers for FK to win you over πŸ˜›
        Thank you, Azia! ❀ ❀
