The Love  Interest | Cale Dietrich

Publication Date: May 16th 2017

Hardcover: 384 pages

Goodreads Synopsis

“There is a secret organization that cultivates teenage spies. The agents are called Love Interests because getting close to people destined for great power means getting valuable secrets.

Caden is a Nice: The boy next door, sculpted to physical perfection. Dylan is a Bad: The brooding, dark-souled guy, and dangerously handsome. The girl they are competing for is important to the organization, and each boy will pursue her. Will she choose a Nice or the Bad?

Both Caden and Dylan are living in the outside world for the first time. They are well-trained and at the top of their games. They have to be – whoever the girl doesn’t choose will die.

What the boys don’t expect are feelings that are outside of their training. Feelings that could kill them both.”

The premise to this one sounds so interesting. I love that the author takes several tropes and puts a spin on them. Hopefully, the love triangle doesn’t get in the way of an LGBTQ+ romance, and hopefully the characters aren’t cardboard cutouts of themselves. Also, it sounds like there might even be some spy action, so that’s a double plus. I can’t wait to have this one in my hands!

  2. I’m really excited for this one too! I’ve been hearing a few mixed things but more positive than mixed. It’s going to be interesting since it’s playing on the whole love triangle trope. Hopefully we both enjoy it! Great pick for this week, Azia!! 😊

  3. I am so so excited for this book. I’ve had it on pre-order for a few months now ever since I discovered it and honestly can’t wait. Now ACOWAR has been released I feel like this is my most anticipated release of the year. I agree with what you said, the thing that interests me the most is the spin on the tropes hinted at in the blurb. I loves stories that do that so hopefully this one will be a success.
Great pick for this week Azia! 😀

  4. Oh, I didn’t know this was going to be a LGBT+ book! That makes a lot more sense, actually XD I was thinking “Oh, a blatant love triangle huh?” But because it was from the guys’ perspective, I was going to give it a go regardless.
Let’s hope it definitely gets some awesome characters and spy action too!

    1. Yeah, I think reading from the guys’ perspective is cool. Also, the fact that it’s LGBTQ+ is a really interesting spin on it. Really excited! Hope it’s good 😉
