What’s on My TBR for This Week?

Hey guys! So I’ve been a little busy this past week. I was hoping to get a review up for A Darker Shade of Magic last week, but I just couldn’t find the time to do it. And for the next few days I’ll be pretty busy because I need to complete two extremely time-consuming creative projects by Wednesday, both of which I haven’t started. *Shame face*

But I may still have time for some reading during my breaks! So, what have I been reading and what do I plan to read this week?

Quick Thoughts: Magnificent. Heartbreaking. 10/10. An instant favorite. Why didn’t I read this sooner?

I absolutely LOVED this rendition of the Illiad. I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning (4am….) trying to finish this book and I don’t regret a single thing.

What I Plan on Reading This Week

This one comes out on Tuesday and, oh boy, I am excited.  I shouldn’t tempt myself and procrastinate like I always do by reading this book the moment I get it, so I’ll leave my copy with my very capable roommate, who will hide it from me. Extreme measures must be taken for situations like this. I guess I won’t be able to crack it open until Wednesday night, after I’ve finished turning in my projects and attending classes. Bummer…

I just received AGOS in the mail and I’m dying to read it. But no. I’m a good student and I shall not be tempted. Not yet, at least. I’ve heard so many amazing things about this book (about this trilogy in general), and now I’m desperate to continue on with the story. If I play my cards right, I might be able to fit this one into my schedule!

I’m behind on reviews again, but not because I don’t feel like writing them. It’s a time thing now. Hopefully I can get at least one or two posted in the next few days!

Have you guys read any of these ones yet? What are your thoughts on them if you have?

That’s all for now! Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see ya soon! 😀

  1. Oh these are all brilliant picks Azia. I’m so so glad you enjoyed The Song of Achilles, did you think it was more heartbreaking than Half Lost? I’m kind of so-so on which book broke my heart the most.
Also I am so so excited to get my hands on Strange the Dreamer when it’s released. It’s going to be a book I want to start the second I have it, and I hope you love AGOS as well. I thought it was even better than ADSOM so I’m curious to see what you think of it!
    Happy reading. 😀 ❤

    1. I have to say Song of Achilles didn’t hurt all that much because I was very familiar with the ending to the Illiad! So, I kind of saw it coming. But I was wondering the entire time how Patroclus was the narrator. So, the very ending, like the chapter, was really touching. Half Lost is still more heart-breaking because I didn’t see it coming.
Have you started Strange the Dreamer? I haven’t had the chance to read it just yet.
Loving AGOS so far! Thanks Beth ❤

      1. Oh see when I was reading despite knowing how the story ended (not that I’m familiar with the Iliad of anything but I am familiar with how the story ends for Achilles and Patroclus) I still hoped for another ending you know. The last chapter pretty much shattered me but I think Half Lost shattered me more as well.
I started it today, haven’t got far but what I have read I’ve loved. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying AGOS though! 😀 ❤

      2. I was kind of hoping it would ending differently too, but she was following the original so closely, I kind of knew it was coming. But yeah, that last chapter was heartbreaking still. Not as heartbreaking as Half Lost, though. That one STILL hurts haha
I’m glad you like it! And I’m still not very far but I hope to do some hefty reading tonight and tomorrow to get it done 😀

  2. That answers my question about if you were enjoying The Song of Achilles! I’m so glad you ended up enjoying it, Azia. I’m definitely going to have to try to read that one this year since I’ve heard nothing but good things. And I so can’t wait for your thoughts on Strange the Dreamer and AGOS once you’re able to read both! So far I am loving AGOS and I have a feeling you will too. Good luck with your school work! 💕😊

    1. I really hope you enjoy the book! And if you’re familiar with the Illiad, you’ll really appreciate how closely the author follows the original tale. Plus, you’ll also know what to expect so the ending won’t hurt as bad LOL.
Definitely loving AGOS. Can’t wait to start Strange the Dreamer, too! I’ve heard some really great things about it so far 😀
      Thanks a bunch, girl ❤ 🙂

      1. The Iliad is one of my favorites so I know I’m going to love that aspect of it. And sometimes even when I know what to expect with a heartbreaking ending it still hits me lol. We’ll see!
I’m glad to hear you’re loving AGOS. You’re welcome!! 😁♥
