Down the TBR Hole | Books 36-40

Down the TBR Hole is a weekly book meme created by the wonderful Lia @ Lost in a Story that attempts to organize our ridiculously long Goodreads TBR list by choosing either to keep or eliminate the books we’ve kept on there for YEARS.

The Books:

19549841

Seraphina | Rachel Hartman

I’ve heard some mixed reviews on this one, but I’ve been curious about it ever since it came out. I really like the cover and the premise seems unique. Also, I’m in search of a book with some great world-building. I hope this one satisfies my craving. The judgement:

Keep

17926775

Stolen Songbird | Danielle L. Jensen

I don’t remember putting this one on my TBR. It must be another “wow, the cover’s really cool, I think I’ll add it to my list just ’cause” book. But I’ve reread the synopsis and have skimmed a good number of positive reviews for it. My interest has been piqued. I think I might save this one for when I don’t feel like reviewing anything and just want to read a “passing the time” book. The judgement:

Keep

10429092

The Girl of Fire and Thorns | Rae Carson

I think I actually own this book. It’s somewhere in the depths of my Nook library. And I think I’ve been meaning to read it but have never been motivated to do so. I’ve reread the synopsis and it sounds kind of cliché with the “chosen one” trope, but since I bought it, I’m gonna try to read it. It’ll be another “passing the time” book. The judgement:

Keep

28194

Inkheart | Cornelia Funke

I’ve been meaning to read this book since middle school. One day I’m actually going to read it. The judgement:

Keep

7285498

Angelfire | Courtney Allison Moulton

I was planning to read this last year, but then I decided to read Angelfall instead. So, I’ve gotten my angel fix. Also, this one seems to have seem really mixed reviews and nothing in the synopsis really grabs my attention. The judgement:

Go

I didn’t release as many books from my TBR as I usually do this time around. But that’s okay! I’m pretty comfortable with my choices. What about you guys? What’d you think of my choices? Do you know any of the books I listed? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for stopping by! See ya soon ❤

    1. I haven’t seen or read Inkheart but it’s been on my TBR for ages. I plan to read Seraphina but it’s definitely not a priority. And it turns out that I actually don’t own The Girl of Fire and Thorns, so that one’s actually a go for me. It doesn’t interest me enough to keep it on my TBR lol.

  1. Great picks on your keep list this week Azia, the only one I’ve read myself is Stolen Songbird which I actually quite liked. Granted the book has it’s issues but it was certainly a unique and memorable story so when you get around to it I hope you enjoy it! 😀
I feel like I’ve also read Angelfire as well, either way I can’t remember so that was obviously not a standout book for me.

    1. If you have a good opinion of Stolen Songbird, then I’m certain I’ll like it too! 😀

And if that’s the case, I’m glad I’ve decided to kick Angelfire off my TBR. I’m aiming for memorable reads this year!

      1. Nice!! I’m going to give it a go! I have so many to do.
And btw: I late reply all the time. I get email notifications when ppl post and though I try to stay on top of it, I just can’t seem to catch up!!

      2. LOL, I am in the SAME boat. So many emails, so little time. I’m just NOW getting around to responding to comments, and I was planning to blog hop all this weekend but couldn’t find the time until now. I have a shame face, but you shouldn’t! You’re definitely doing better than I am XD
