Waiting on Wednesday | January

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill over @ Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases we eagerly await. If you’d like to participate, click the link above and add your entry to the list!

The main book I am waiting to read this month is Caraval, which will be released the last day of January. This book, however, comes out much sooner, and seems very promising. So, the book I am waiting on right now is:

A List of Cages | Robin Roe

Publication Date: January 10th 2017

Hardcover: 320 pages

Goodreads Synopsis

“When Adam Blake lands the best elective ever in his senior year, serving as an aide to the school psychologist, he thinks he’s got it made. Sure, it means a lot of sitting around, which isn’t easy for a guy with ADHD, but he can’t complain, since he gets to spend the period texting all his friends. Then the doctor asks him to track down the troubled freshman who keeps dodging her, and Adam discovers that the boy is Julian–the foster brother he hasn’t seen in five years.

Adam is ecstatic to be reunited. At first, Julian seems like the boy he once knew. He’s still kind hearted. He still writes stories and loves picture books meant for little kids. But as they spend more time together, Adam realizes that Julian is keeping secrets, like where he hides during the middle of the day, and what’s really going on inside his house. Adam is determined to help him, but his involvement could cost both boys their lives.”

I’m usually waiting on a fantasy book, but I’d like to add a different type of book to my shelves. I’ve read a plethora of positive Goodreads reviews for this book, and in my quest to expand my reading horizons, I think this would be an excellent addition to my little library!

  1. Wow this sounds like an amazing book. I’ve been seeing it around Goodreads recently, the stars on the cover definitely caught my eye, but never really checked out the blurb until I saw you post it as your WoW. It sounds like a brilliant contemporary book, and as that is one of my favourite genres after fantasy this will definitely be one I check out when it’s released.
Great pick for this week Azia! 😀

    1. The stars definitely caught my eye, too! Such a simple yet pretty cover. And I love a good contemporary book here and there. This one definitely sounds promising. Can’t wait to add it to my shelves 😀 I also can’t wait to read everyone else’s reviews on it, if they choose to read it. And thank you! ❤

      1. Sometimes simple but pretty make the best covers. And I’m the same, fantasy is my go-to genre but every so often I like reading contemporary books.
I may check out a few reviews after it’s been released before I pick it up myself, but it certainly sounds promising!
        That’s all right. 😀 ❤
