Book Tag Tuesday | Goodreads Book Tag (Round 2)

I’ve already done this tag once, but I was tagged again by Jasmine @ How Useful It Is a while back and I really wanted to do it again before the new year begins. If you haven’t already, go check out Jasmine’s blog! She’s got some amazing content and she’s really sweet and fun to talk to 😀

Let’s jump right into it!

What is the last book you marked as read?

12812550

Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke and Bone #2) | Laini Taylor

I haven’t reviewed this one yet, but let me tell you, this book was friggin AMAZING. I’m currently trying to decide between giving it 4.5 stars and a full 5 star review. So, be on the lookout for that sometime this week!

What are you currently reading?

7402393

Nightshade | Andrea Cremer

It’s not looking good guys. It’s not looking good.

What was the last book you marked as to read?

28954189

Scythe (Arc of a Scythe #1) | Neil Shusterman

I recently stumbled across an amazing review by Reg @ She Latitude and after reading the synopsis and her review, I was convinced that I needed this book in my life. If you like dark fantasies, this one might be a good one for you! Be sure to check our Reg’s review and to take a peak at the synopsis!

Do you use the star rating system?

I do! Although I really wish Goodreads provided half stars, too! A lot of books I’ve reviewed  fall in the middle.

What book do you plan on reading next?
Shiver | Maggie Steifvater OR Wolfsbane (Nightshade #2) | Andrea Cremer

Honestly, it’s a toss up between these two. I’m not really happy with how Nightshade is turning out, so I’m not all that excited to read the second book. I might switch over to the Wolves of Mercy Falls series, instead.

Are you doing the 2016 reading challenge?

Yes I am! Last time I did this, I hadn’t reached my goal of 50 books. But now…

What book do you plan on buying next?

I just went on a mini shopping spree yesterday and bought four books from B&N. I got Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes, Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, The Fever Code by James Dashner, and Splintered by A.G. Howard.

A few days before that book haul, I had ordered Gemina by Amie Kaufman, Dreams of Gods & Monsters by Laini Taylor, and The Midnight Star by Marie Lu.

My next book haul might include the following:

Do you have a wish list?

All those book in the picture above haha. And then some! My wish list just keeps growing and growing and growing….

What is your favorite quote?

Last time I put an amazing quote from Six of Crows here. I’m going to do a more generic quote this time, one I think all us bookworms can relate to:

“So many books, so little time.”
― Frank Zappa

Who are your favorite authors?

Leigh Bardugo, Cassandra Clare, Marie Lu, Marissa Meyer, Sarah J. Maas, and a few others. You can see my complete (not yet updated) list here.

Have you joined any groups?

Yup! A lot. More than I should have. I’m part of nine groups but I’m only semi-active on 3 of them. I like Polls for Our Souls, Addicted to YA, and Top 5 Wednesday.

I Tag

EVERYONE

I won’t be tagging anyone this time, because I’m sure a lot of people have been tagged for this one already, but if this one really catches your fancy, then go on right ahead my friend. Consider yourself tagged 🙂

  1. Looking great on that challenge!! I also wish that Goodreads could add half stars. That would be the most amazing thing ever lol. This Savage Song and Vicious are some of my favorite books, I really hope you like them!!

    1. Thank you! 😀 And I hope I like them, too! I’ve heard great things so I have some pretty high expectations, but I think they’ll be met if so many people love the books haha 🙂 Really excited to read them! ❤

  2. This is a great tag, and also I loved reading your answers for it as well Azia! I’m really glad to see you enjoyed Days of Blood and Starlight (though I also said that in your other post from today so it may not surprise you to hear me saying it again!) Also I saw Reg’s review for Scythe and it definitely convinced me I need to add that book to my to-read list and get around to it ASAP! 😀
I hope you enjoy Winter, and all the V.E. Schwab books you have planned for your next haul. They’re all amazing in my opinion so hopefully you’ll love them as well! 🙂

    1. Thank you, Beth! ❤ And I really did. It was phenomenal. I'm so excited to read the third book. And I can't wait to read all those V.E. Schwab books and Winter. I think my 2017 is going to start out very well haha! I hope to love them, too ❤

      1. That’s all right! ❤ Oh the third book is amazing, I thought it was the best of the lot, so you have a real treat to come! 😀
And if you've got Winter and V.E. Schwab on your 2017 to-read list then your year is going to start out very well! ❤

      2. Oooh yay! I’m excited 🙂 I ordered Dreams of Gods & Monsters recently and I’m having a hard time saving it for later haha.

And yes! Very excited to read and review them. Thanks, Beth! ❤

      3. LOL XD I would LOVE to do that but I am determined to finish the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. It’s been on my list for 4 or 5 years I think haha. But I DID bump up Dreams of Gods & Monsters to my TBR this month. I think I might try to read it after I finish the series. I’m really excited to see how that wonderful story ends 😀

      4. I suppose it’s a good idea to finish series you’ve already started. It’s what I do with most of the books I read when a whole series has been released! Ahh at least Dreams of Gods and Monsters is sooner, I’ll definitely be looking forwards to seeing what you think of that one! 😀

      5. Yup! I’ll be finishing up Mercy Falls by the end of this week but now I have to choose which book I’ll read next: Dreams of Gods & Monsters or A Darker Shade of Magic (which I JUST received in the mail). It’s so hard to choose!! XD

        Liked by 1 person

      6. Oh my god that is such a hard choice! I’d recommend Dreams of Gods and Monsters because that is the last book, then move directly onto A Darker Shade of Magic, then get A Gathering of Shadows and start that, and then try to live with the wait for A Conjuring of Light (it’s a very hard wait!) 😀

  3. I am SO EXCITED to see many VE Schwab books on that to-buy list! 10/10, would recommend reading her stuff. And I’m happy to hear that my review of Scythe has convinced you to put it on your TBR! I hope you’ll get to it eventually, bc it was just a fun book.

RE: Shiver – I hope you enjoy it! I read it when I was a teen and fell in love with Stiefvater’s beautiful writing. 💞

Also this comment is all over the place but congratulations on achieving your Goodreads goal! Do you reckon you’ll raise it for next year?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Thank you! And I’m hoping a love the series, too 😀 And yes, I will! I set the goal in August when I started to seriously read again. Since I have the whole year now, I’ll probably raise it to 100-120 books 😀
