Down the TBR Hole is a weekly book meme created by the wonderful Lia @ Lost in a Story that attempts to organize our ridiculously long Goodreads TBR list by choosing either to keep or eliminate the books we’ve kept on there for YEARS.
Lately, my posting consistency has been garbage because of essays and upcoming exams, but my finals are done by the 8th. So after that, I’m home free to like, comment, and post as I please. So, please forgive me if I fail to respond to your comments in a timely manner or if I just disappear for the next few days!
The Books:
Bones of Faerie | Janni Lee Simner
Even though Maggie Stiefvater awarded this book five stars on Goodreads, and even though I’d like to read some more faerie books, I don’t think this one is strong enough to keep my interest. The plot seems moderately interesting, but the reviews are a bit all over the place and I’ve gotta let some things go. The judgement is:
Go
Eyes Like Stars | Lisa Mantchev
Ugh, I LOVE this cover. But after reading the synopsis again, I don’t know what I was thinking. I barely understand the plot and I’m not entirely familiar with Shakespeare’s works, other than Midsummer and Romeo & Juliet. Also, after reading a few reviews from my friends, I’m not entirely sure I’d enjoy this one. I think I really just put this one on my TBR because of the cover. So, I guess the judgement for this is:
Go
If I Die (Soul Screamers, Book 5) | Rachel Vincent
Well, what the hell? I didn’t even read the first Soul Screamers and it ain’t on my list, so I don’t know how the heck this one got there. I’ll check out the Soul Screamers series, but this one doesn’t have to be on my TBR right now. The judgement:
Go
Endure (Need, Book 4) | Carrie Jones
I read the first two books of this series and I really liked them. Well, I don’t remember them very well, because I read them a few years ago, but I remember being very pleased with them. So, I intend to reread the first two books and finish out the series. Plus, I’d love to read more faerie books, just like I did back in the day. The judgement:
Keep
Crown of Midnight | Sarah J. Maas
If any of you have been following me along for the past couple months, you’ll know that I’ve been trying to read the ToG series since the beginning of time. I just can’t seem to fit the books into my monthly TBR! I was supposed to read it in October, in November, and now this month. For the love of all that is good in this world…the way things are looking, this damn book is going to stay on my TBR until the day I die. The judgement:
Keep (Forever….)
I gotta say, I’m kind of proud of myself for getting rid of three books in a row! I didn’t know I could be so cutthroat when it came to books. Let’s see if I can keep it up 😀
Hurray for, uh, cutthroatability! =D

Yes, hurray! 😂 I encourage everyone to be a little cutthroat when going through the list. It’s so empowering lol

You should be proud of cutting those books away! It feels really good to let go of books you don’t want to read anymore 🙂

This sounds like a fun meme! I definitely need to clean out my ever-growing TBR mountain. How many books a week do we choose? Is it a certain amount per meme? Or just however many we want?

I love this meme! Makes me feel like I actually have control over my TBR 😂 And you can do 5 or 10 books per week. Or more if you want/if your lost is extra long haha! 😁

Yaaaay!! 😀 And you can post on whichever day you like! I post on Saturdays but I think Lia posts during the week, possibly every Thursday
